Changing Your World: Investigating Empowerment
This course focuses on the concept of Empowerment in Canada in many forms. There are 6 major units that focus on Canadian Empowerment throughout our history. Upon completion of this course, students will be able to successfully distinguish the differences between economic, political, cultural, societal, and national empowerment. Participation and discussion will be a major part of this course.

2. Economic Empowerment: Distribution of Wealth
> Having enough wealth to take care of your needs
3. Political Empowerment: Toward Confederation
> Having a say in the way things are organized and how decisions are made
4. Cultural Empowerment: Many Voices
> Being free to practice your culture
5. Societal Empowerment: New Century, New Ideas
> All members of society being treated fairly and equally
6. National Empowerment: A Stronger Nation
> A nation having the power to make the decisions for itself
